3M Supplier eInvoicing


3M has recently introduced a new facility which allows our suppliers to invoice us electronically. Working with a third  party exchange provider, this new service is available to our suppliers based in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

How does it work?

For the vast majority of 3M’s suppliers, the simplest method is known as  ‘PO Flip’.  Suppliers simply access a website and are able to set up and issue invoices, based on purchase order information.  Other ‘integrated’ solutions are also available. For more information, please contact 3M

Why should I eInvoice?

There are many advantages to eInvoicing for our suppliers:

  • no more printing, enveloping and postage costs
  • secure, reliable delivery of invoices
  • reduced data entry errors
  • no lost invoices
  • improved PO:Invoice matching processes
  • more payments ‘on time in full’!

Is there a cost to eInvoice?

3M shares the cost of electronic invoicing with its suppliers.  Whilst 3M has borne (and will continue to bear) the cost of development of the solution, suppliers are asked for a small fee per invoice, payable to the third party exchange provider.
