Reflectors

Most displays use reflectors around light sources and behind the light guide to help direct light out of the display and towards the viewer. Vikuiti™ Enhanced Specular Reflector (ESR) is a thin, 100% polymer film reflector that is 98.5% reflective over the entire visible spectrum, regardless of the angle of incidence.

Made using 3M's multi-layer optical film technology, Vikuiti ESR minimizes losses due to absorption while maximizing polarization scrambling. Vikuiti ESR should be used in conjunction with Vikuiti Brightness Enhancement Films (BEF) and Vikuiti Dual Brightness Enhancement Films (DBEF) to further increase the efficiency of your display. As both films have a recycling function, a high portion of light will have several interactions with the reflector in the system. Using a highly efficient reflector will give you much higher brightness gain.
