Information for Card Manufacturers
The Vikuiti™ Clear Card Filter is a proprietary pre-laminate from 3M that effectively blocks infrared light. Laminated between two clear sheets of PVC, the clear, IR-blocking film allows nearly 100% transmission of visible light. Cards can accept traditional four-color printing in addition to a wide range of translucent inks.

Design Possibilities are Endless
Vikuiti clear card filters are produced on a clear plastic substrate while other cards are produced on opaque white plastic. The clear plastic enables you to create more colorful and compelling designs. Typography, solids, patterns, illustrations and photographs can all reproduce well on clear plastic—if it works for a 4-color print job it will work for Clear Card! You can also lay down a solid color behind a designated area to create an opaque effect. For example, white is a printable solid color.
