Dual Brightness Enhancement Films

Vikuiti™ Dual Brightness Enhancement Films (DBEF) are reflective polarizers which use 3M's multi-layer optical film technology. Vikuiti DBEF films increase the amount of light available for illuminating LCD displays by recycling light that would normally be absorbed by the rear polarizer of the liquid crystal panel. The backlight efficiency is increased while maintaining viewing angle. Vikuiti DBEF films can be used alone or in conjunction with other Vikuiti display enhancement films such as BEF and ESR for maximum brightness.

Multifunctional Films

Vikuiti™ Brightness Enhancement Multifunctional Films combine angle and polarization management into a single film--providing the equivalent brightness of two separate prism films--and can also improve the viewing angle.

To use Vikuiti DBEF or Multifunctional films to increase the brightness of a liquid crystal display, the film must be mounted with its transmission axis parallel to the transmission axis of the rear polarizer. The film should be placed directly behind the LCD panel with no additional films in between. The protective films on both sides of the DBEF or Multifunctional film must be removed prior to installation. Be sure to read each individual product's application guideline for complete details.
