D Sub EMI Junction Shell, Metalized Plastic, Straight, Round Cable Exit
The 3M D Sub EMI Junction Shell, 3357-62xx-1C, has a metalized plastic, straight,
round cable exit that is used with the 3M™ IDC D Subminiature Connectors and
3M™ Round Jacketed Cables to form a completed cable assembly. The D Sub EMI
Junction Shell, 3357-62xx-1C, is used in applications where the D Sub Assembly is
attached to the chassis externally. D Sub Connectors are traditionally used for
Input/Output (I/O) applications that allow the system to use peripheral devices
and test fixtures. The D Sub EMI Junction Shell, 3357-62xx-1C, utilizes a two-piece,
screw together construction which allows for quick and easy assembly. The base shell
material is a RoHS compliant* ABS plastic, that is then nickel plated to provide
EMI shielding. The D Sub EMI Junction Shell, 3357-62xx-1C, is provided with a compression
insert tree that is used to accommodate a variety of cable outside diameters (OD).

The 3M SDR Connector solutions utilizes the same reliable ribbon contact system
and polarized steel shell interface in a condensed .8 mm package without sacrificing
transmission performance. The SDR connector's innovative packaging design allows
for drop-in replacement of existing MDR Camera Link® applications.
3M offers a variety of solutions for Camera Link® applications that require
a smaller interface, but can't afford to sacrifice the transmission performance
decline that is usually associated with this transition. 3M solutions are comprised
of boardmount connectors and cable assembly variations developed to address the
migration to smaller Camera Link® interface requirements.

Rugged, Reliable Cable Assembly Solution
3M™ Shrunk Delta Ribbon (SDR) Cable Assembly
The 3M™ Shrunk Delta Ribbon (SDR) Cable Assembly solution is constructed of
a rugged, over-mold shell with a reliable thumbscrew locking system. The assemblies
have been developed to address the multitude of options now available with the introduction
of mini Camera Link® (mini CL). In addition, 3M has added two new features
to our standard Camera Link® assembly offering. The first is an over-mold,
right angle configuration that provides a low profile, thumbscrew interface. The
right angle option reduces the assembly profile by over four inches when compared
to traditional straight exit backshell options. The second new feature is our extender
assembly that is used for adding length to the existing cables or providing a means
for transition through a bulkhead/mid-span requirement. The extender cables feature
over-mold MDR receptacles.
