Casings are large-diameter pipe lowered into an open-hole and cemented in place. They are typically exposed to high temperatures, pressures and harsh chemical environment. 3M Scotchkote coatings offer corrosion protection with a broad range of chemical resistance and service conditions.
A single length of the pipe is assembled to provide a conduit through which the oil or gas will be produced from a wellbore. 3M Scotchkote epoxy modified coatings are applied over a phenolic or water base primer and heat cured to form one homogeneous film. The resulting coated material provides the adhesion and corrosion resistance of other high performance coatings.

3M™ Scotchkote™ Fusion-Bonded Epoxy Coating XC-6171 is a one-part, heat curable, thermosetting, powdered epoxy coating designed for coating the interior of production tubing, line pipe, and fittings. When applied over a primer, XC-6171 FBEC meets Saudi Aramco seawater and sour gas service requirements.

3M™ Scotchkote™ Liquid Phenolic Primer 345
3M™ Scotchkote™ Liquid Phenolic Primer 345 is a one-part phenolic base primer designed specifically for application to metal surfaces prior to topcoating with Scotchkote Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating. When properly applied, Scotchkote 345 primer and topcoat system provide excellent resistance to CO2, H2S, CH4, petroleum distillates and brine at elevated temperatures and pressures.

3M™ Scotchkote™ Water-based Primer 500N
3M™ Scotchkote™ Water-based Primer 500N is a water-based metal treatment designed to increase adhesion of fusion bonded epoxy coatings. Properly applied to blast-cleaned steel, it provides protection for metal surfaces and a uniform bonding base for increased coating performance.
