  • The 3M™ Streaming Projector SPR1000 (the “3M product”) is warranted to be free from defects in material or manufacture for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase.
  • All other accessories included with the 3M product are warranted to be free from defects in material or manufacture for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase.
  • Optional product accessories that are not sold as part of the 3M product are subject to individual warranties.


In the event the 3M product fails to conform to the above stated warranties within the applicable warranty period‚ your exclusive remedy shall be‚ at 3M’s option‚ to replace or repair the 3M product or to refund the purchase price of the 3M product. All replaced parts or products become property of 3M. If the product is repaired‚ 3M will repair the defective part(s) with a new or used part(s). If the 3M product is replaced‚ 3M will replace the 3M product with the same or equivalent model and with a new or refurbished 3M product. In the case of an approved warranty claim‚ the replacement 3M product will carry only the remaining term of the original 3M product’s warranty period as stated above. For warranty service‚ you must provide proof of the date of the original purchase else the manufacturing code date will be used to establish the start date of the warranty. The following are exclusions to the above listed warranty:

  1. This warranty does not cover 3M product that is modified or damaged through improper storage‚ misuse‚ abuse‚ accident‚ vandalism‚ improper installation‚ neglect‚ improper shipping‚ damage caused by acts of war‚ disasters such as fire‚ flood‚ and lightning‚ improper electrical current‚ software problems‚ interaction with non-3M products‚ or service other than by an 3M Authorized Service Provider‚ neglect or mishandling by any person. Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
  2. 3M product is designed to operate in the typical indoor environment. This warranty does not cover 3M product used outside of the following circumstances:
    • Charged by iPhone 4/4S USB Power Adapter or Computer USB port
    • 0° – 35°C (32° – 95°F)
    • 10 – 80% RH (without condensation)
    • 0 – 1829 m (0 – 6‚000 feet) above sea level.
  3. The air intake and exhaust vent must be clear of obstructions. Inadequate air ventilation will cause the 3M product to malfunction or will cause damage to the 3M product which will void the warranty.
  4. This warranty does not cover any additional costs including‚ but not limited to‚ those associated with removal‚ cleaning or installation of the 3M product‚ adjustments‚ (mechanical or electronic) made to the 3M product.
  5. This warranty covers only normal use of the product. 24-hour-per-day or other excessive continual use causes strain and is not considered normal use.
  6. This warranty does not cover consumables (e.g.‚ batteries).
  7. This warranty is not transferable.
  8. 3M is not responsible for warranty service should the 3M label or logo or the rating label or serial number be removed unless otherwise stated in writing for the purposes of private labeling for partnership requirements.
  9. This warranty does not cover postage‚ insurance‚ or shipping costs incurred in presenting your 3M product for warranty service. Said costs are the customer’s responsibility. If a claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced in service‚ the customer may be held responsible for cost incurred. Should your warranty upgrade include a “change out” service and the claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced by the technician‚ the customer will be responsible for call out costs.

What 3M Will Do To Correct Problems:

  • If your 3M product requires service‚ 3M will ask you to bring or send the 3M product‚ securely packaged in its original container or equivalent‚ along with proof of the date of original purchase‚ to your 3M Service Dealer or 3M Service Center.
  • 3M will‚ at its option‚ repair or replace the defective unit without charge for parts or labor. Return of the 3M product will be at 3M’s expense.
  • When warranty service involves the exchange of the 3M product or of a part‚ the item replaced becomes 3M property.
  • The exchanged 3M product or part may be new or previously refurbished to the 3M standard of quality‚ and at 3M’s option‚ the replacement may be another model of like kind and quality.
  • 3M’s liability for replacement of the warranted 3M product or part will not exceed the original retail selling price of the 3M product. Exchange or replacement products or parts assume the remaining warranty period of the product covered by this limited warranty.




Q: What is the 3M™ Streaming Projector powered by Roku®?
A: The 3M Streaming Projector powered by Roku is a combination of two products: a projector and a streaming media device. The projector is a product of 3M; the streaming media device is a product of Roku ( They are packaged together by 3M as a single solution for your enjoyment.

The 3M Streaming Projector is a battery operated projector and can also project images from MHL and HDMI enabled smartphones, tablets, computers and DVD Players. Additional cables will be required.

The Roku® Streaming Stick™ connects to your high-speed wireless network and delivers video and audio from a wide selection of on-demand video and audio streaming providers. Membership may be required. For more details about providers available through Roku, go to

Q: What is required to use this product?
A: To get started, you will need access to a wireless, high-speed internet connection and a Roku account. For more details about providers available through Roku go to

Q: How does the 3M Streaming Projector powered by Roku connect to the Internet?
A: The Roku Streaming Stick™ that is included connects to the Internet through your home or other Wi-Fi network. The Roku Streaming Stick is compatible with 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n wireless networks. It also supports current wireless security protocols, including WEP, WPA and WPA2.

Q: How fast does my internet need to be?
A: You will need a high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 1.5 Mbps. You can test your internet connection speed by going to

Q: What is MHL?
A: This is a new digital video and audio interface for smartphones, and other portable devices as well as TVs. MHL allows your portable device such as your smartphone to send video and audio to the projector over a single cable. While your phone is sending video and audio, the projector charges your phone. Additionally, you can control some or all of the features on the portable device using the projector's remote control.

Q: What is the difference between MHL™ and HDMI®?
A: Even though a display has an HDMI input, it does not mean it is MHL enabled. Most MHL enabled displays such as the 3M Streaming Projector SPR1000 are compatible with both MHL and HDMI enabled devices. In addition to playing back video and audio from a MHL enabled device, a MHL enabled display can charge and control the device. For a list of MHL enabled devices, please refer to

Q: Can I turn off the projector's lamp and continue to listen to audio?
A: Yes, press the Lamp On/Off button on the remote control. Press again to turn the lamp back on.

Q: How do I clean the projector lens?
A: A cotton swab is a good tool for cleaning the lens. When cleaning the lens‚ hold the lens in place using the focus knob and then gently remove the dust and dirt. Do not use harsh chemicals such as acetone. Harsh chemicals will damage the lens and other plastic parts.

Battery and Charging

Q: How long does it take to charge the battery?
A: It takes about three hours to fully charge the battery. The projector charges faster when turned off.

Q: How long will the battery last once it is charged?
A: When the battery is brand new and fully charged, it will last up to one and a half hours in standard lamp mode and up to two and a half hours in eco lamp mode.

Q: What happens if I overcharge the battery?
A: There are protection circuits in the projector and battery that prevent over charging.

Q: If my battery is dead‚ can I use the power adapter to power the projector?
A: Yes, when the battery is dead the power adapter will power the projector.

Q: Do I need a Roku account to use the Roku Streaming Stick?
A: Yes. Go to

A: The projector supplies power to the Roku Streaming Stick.

Q: What remote control do I use for the Roku Streaming Stick?
A: You can use the remote control that came with the 3M Streaming Projector. For use with game available on Roku, you will need the Roku® Game Remote for the Streaming Stick™. You can purchase the Roku Game Remote for the Roku Streaming Stick from Roku.

Q: What is the native resolution of the projector?
A: WVGA (854 × 480)

Q: Does the 3M Streaming Projector have a menu system?
A: Yes. There is menu system for adjusting brightness, contrast, lamp mode, display mode, and video mode.

Q: Can the Streaming Projector project in widescreen?
A: Yes. The 3M Streaming Projector is a 16:9 projector.


Q: What else can I connect to the projector?
A: You can connect most HDMI or MHL compatible devices to the projector. Examples of these devices are smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and computers.

Q: What resolutions are supported by the projector?
A: The projector supports 480p, 576p, 720p, and 1080i.

Accessories and Replacement Parts

Q: What is the Roku® Game Remote for Streaming Stick™?
A: It is a wireless remote control made for the Roku Streaming Stick that connects to the Roku Streaming Stick using a wireless connection. The Game Remote lets you play games and control the Roku Streaming Stick. You can purchase it from Roku or its distributors.

Q: Are there any replacement parts in the projector?
A: There are no replacement parts for the projector.

Q: Can I replace the lamp?
A: No. The light source is a set of LEDs and cannot be replaced. The LEDs life time is 20,000 hours.

How to get a bigger sound when using the 3M™ Streaming Projector

You can connect standard computer speakers or self-powered speakers to the projector's headphone jack. Then place the speakers below or beside the image. Now you have an instant, spur-of-the-moment home theater

How to connect other devices to the 3M Streaming Projector

You can connector other devices such as tablets, computers, smartphones, and dvd players to the 3M Streaming Projector. Your device only needs a HDMI®, or MHL™ output

HDMI Compatible Devices

There are three connector types found on HDMI compatible devices: HDMI, Mini-HDMI and Micro-HDMI. You will find HDMI outputs on many smartphones, DVD players, game consoles, computers and set-top boxes.

  1. Open the cover on the projector
  2. Using the proper HDMI cable type, connect the projector to the HDMI output on the other device
  3. Close the cover. You can route the cable through a notch on the cover

  2. Some devices require an adapter when connecting to a HDMI compatible display such as the 3M Streaming Projector. Please consult your manufacturer’s documentation before purchasing a cable or an adapter.

MHL Compatible Devices

MHL enabled devices such as smartphones will have a microUSB port. You can find a list of MHL enabled devices at You can also refer to the device specification.

  1. Open the cover on the projector
  2. Using a MHL cable, connect the projector to the MHL output on the other device
  3. Close the cover. You can route the cable through a notch on the cover


  1. The MHL cable is sold separately. If you want a single cable solution, purchase a passive MHL cable. Other types of MHL to HDMI adapter require additional power adapters.
  2. Not all devices with a microUSB port support MHL. Check the device's specification before purchasing a MHL cable.

The Power Adapter and Charging the Battery

I do not see where to insert the outlet clip into the power adapter.

  • There is a blank clip, inserted into the power adapter, when it is shipped. Remove the blank clip which covers the power adapter contacts. Now install an outlet clip.

I do not see an amber light when I plug the power adapter into the projector.

  • Make sure the power outlet is working.
  • Make sure the connector from the power adapter is plugged into the "DC In" on the projector and not the headphone jack.
  • When fully charged the LED indicator will flash green.

Installing the Roku® Streaming Stick™ into the Projector

The Roku Streaming Stick will not insert into the projector.

  • There is a dust cap on the end of the connector. Remove it before inserting Streaming Stick into the projector.
  • When you insert the stick, make sure the word Roku is facing out.

The cover hits the Roku Streaming Stick when I close the cover.

  • The streaming stick may not be inserted properly. Try removing the stick and inserting it again.

The cover does not close properly.

  • There is a tab on the bottom corner of the cover. Make sure the tab inserts into the groove on the projector and the rest of the cover snaps into place.

Turning the Projector On or Off

The projector will not turn on.

  • The battery is not charged. Plug the power adapter into the projector and try again.

The projector button panel is on but the projector is not projecting an image.

  • The video source (such as the Roku Stick) is outputting a black image. First, try removing the Roku Streaming Stick or disconnect the video cable. Do you see the 3M logo screen? If not, try turning off the projector and turning it on again. If you still do not see a 3M Logo screen while the status indicator is green, contact 3M™ for additional support.
  • The Lamp is off. Press the Lamp ON/Off button on the remote control.

The remote control will not turn on the projector.

  • When the projector is new and never been turned on, you must use the power button on the projector. Now you can turn on the projector by pressing the power button on the projector or the remote control.

The projector is powered on and the Roku Stick is inserted but no input is displayed on the screen.

  • You should see a power light on the stick. If you do not, the stick may not be inserted properly. Try removing the stick and inserting it again.

The status indicator on the projector flashes red.

  • The projector's battery needs to be charged.

I continue to see the bouncing Roku screen and that's all.

  • While the Roku Streaming Stick boots up, you will see the bouncing Roku screen. Normally the Roku Streaming Stick takes about two minutes to boot up. If the screen does not change within 10 minutes, try turning off the projector and try again.

Setting Up the Projector

The projector falls over when I place it on its rear cover.

  • The cover may not be seated properly. There is a tongue on the bottom corner of the cover. Insert the tongue into the groove on the projector and the rest of the cover will snap into place.

The image is tinted or discolored.

  • The wall or surface you're projecting onto is colored. Try projecting onto a white wall or surface.
  • The lens may be dirty. Use a dry cotton swab to clean it off.

Focusing the Image

The image is blurry.

  • Use the focus wheel on the side of the projector (next to the lens) to sharpen the image.
  • Reduce the input resolution. The native resolution of projector is 480p. Therefore, resolutions greater that 720p may appear blurry.
  • If you are closer to the projected image than the projector, you might be seeing the individual pixels that make up the image. Reduce the size of the image or move away from the image.

The image is too dim.

  • Reduce the image size and/ or decrease (darken) the room lighting.

The image seems bright enough but there are no details in the dark shadows.

  • Open the projector menu and increase brightness setting and then decrease the contrast slightly.

  • Open the projector menu and decrease contrast.

Adjusting the Volume

There is no audio coming out of the speaker.

  • Turn up the volume or turn off mute.
  • Turn up the volume on the external speakers.
  • There may be a moment of silence in the show you are watching.

Using the Remote Control

The remote control does not work.

  • Remove the plastic film that is in-between the battery and the remote control.
    Remove the plastic film that is in-between the battery and the remote control image
  • Replace the battery. The battery size is a CR 2025.
  • The remote control is out of range of the projector. The remote control's range is up to 20 feet.
  • Sunlight or lighting in the room can interfere with the projector's reception of the remote control's signal.
