3M Drug Delivery Systems is the only valve manufacturer that integrates in-house metal component manufacturing with valve assembly on-site. As a result, we can maintain process control and efficiency to maximize final process quality.
MDI valves must provide precise through-life dose uniformity. As valves are optimized, many factors must be considered including loss of prime, loss of dose, leakage, deposition, extractables, cleanliness, pressure-filling performance and customer manufacturing requirements.
3M valves provide dose consistency and reliability. In addition, their robust construction is a key aspect of their superior market performance.
3M™ Retention Valve
3M has developed the all-metal 3M™ Retention Valve with Ethylene-Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM) elastomer to address your pMDI formulation needs.
The combination of a metal system with a clean EPDM elastomer helps give this valve improved performance. With low moisture ingression, low leakage, and low levels of extractables and leachables, the 3M™ Retention Valve is suitable for a range of pMDI products.
The robust pressure-fillable design helps ensure that the valve will perform under a wide variety of conditions and patient use regimes. The valve delivers consistent performance with good dose uniformity and over seven days prime retention ensuring an effective first therapeutic dose. The valve's smooth operation with low actuation force and maximum return forces make it easy for patients to use.
The 3M™ Retention Valve is available as part of a complete systems program or as a stand alone component, both backed by full technical support from 3M. Click here to request a copy of the 3M White Paper '10 Ways to Protect Your pMDI Product' featuring the 3M Retention Valve.
