Programs and Events
The 3M logo can be used in conjunction with thematic imagery and text to extend a program or event theme, and reinforce that 3M is the sponsor, promoter or agent. See the examples below and visit the Identity Elements section to learn more about correctly applying Typography the 3M Logo and 3M Montage. Visit the Programs and Events section for other ways to incorporate themed imagery throughout a program or event. Visit the Application Standards page to learn how to apply the logo and text to different materials. Visit the 3M Branded Merchandise eStore to special order 3M branded merchandise for your program or event. For programs and events, use the 3M logo as an endorsement by positioning the logo and text on separate surfaces of the item. For example, on a shirt, position the text on the left chest and the logo on the collar or sleeve, or position the text and logo on opposite sides of a mug or pen.

Standards
- Always use a 3M Red logo on 3M branded merchandise.
- Only one 3M logo can appear per visual surface.
- Incorporate the montage messaging type from your themed montage, in a color that complements the overall theme and the merchandise.
- Set the text in Helvetica Neue 57 Regular Condensed and Helvetica Neue 47 Light Condensed, according to your themed montage.
There is a distinction between the development of new logos and the creation of a theme. Key messages and images may be combined to create a themed montage for a specific program or event. By definition, programs and events have a defined beginning and end date, or recur on a regularly scheduled basis. Themed montages should be used specifically in conjunction with a defined Program or Event. Themed montages are never connected to the 3M logo. Nor do they replace or become a new logo. New logos are not allowed.
