Newsletters
Newsletters are multiple-page pieces of literature or electronic documents distributed periodically to specific audiences. Consistent application of our identity elements will help build familiarity and identify them as publications from 3M. Standards are provided for both print and online versions.

Standards

A 10mm 3M Red logo is positioned in the upper left corner 1/2-inch below top of page with a clear space of 1/2 "M" between the logo and the large masthead name.

The large masthead name is set in Helvetica Neue 47 Light Condensed.

The subheads, sidebars, captions are set in Helvetica Neue 57 Regular Condensed.

The body copy is set in Helvetica Neue 47 Light Condensed..

Follow the same guidelines as literature for inside spreads.

Apply the 3M Address System on the bottom of the last page of the newsletter.

Use a 1 inch (25mm) margin on spine, allowing for 3-hole punching. Use a .50 inch (13mm) margin on top, bottom and sides. Visit Formats & Grids for more guidance.

Utilize the 3M montage design to create the masthead.

If created as images, the navigational links and other banner text is set in Helvetica Neue 57 Regular Condensed. If they are text links, use Verdana.

The body copy is Verdana, in accordance with 3M.com typography standards.
