Facility Signage

External Identification

All signage requests -- including acquisitions and mergers -- must go through 3M Facilities Management, 651-736-4720, Building 0225-01-N-05, St. Paul, Minnesota (for both United States and international locations).

Outdoor signs identifying facilities should display only the 3M logo to ensure global consistency. Custom signage is available to comply with local restrictions and architecture.

Cube Structures

Display the 3M logo on all four sides, and elevate the sign above ground level. Text options for the surface below the cube include the word "Center" or a locally compliant street address.

Standards

• 3M cube sign panels are square shaped.
• The 3M logo must be 3M Red against a silver or pearl gray background. (See material specifications below.)
• Cube structures are internally illuminated.
• Use Helvetica Neue Condensed for sign text.

Lawn Pylons

Lawn signs can have two levels of signage. The large, upper level should always display the 3M logo. The second, lower level can be used to indicate the facility name or to display addressing information in compliance with fire codes. This additional text should be black or reversed white Helvetica Neue Condensed.

Building Identification or Dock Numbers

3M locations with more than one building may need building number signs to help direct visitors and facilitate pickups and deliveries. In the United States, you can request the quantities and sizes you need from 3M Facilities Engineering, St. Paul, Minn. Outside the United States, ask your site engineer or 3M International Engineering, St. Paul, Minn.

Water Tower Identification

All water tower identification requests must go through 3M Facilities Management. The 3M logo may be placed on a water tower only if the water tower is on 3M property and is owned by 3M.

Standards

• Signs on 3M water towers should only consist of the 3M logo in 3M Red.
• Water towers generally can accommodate three logos for visibility at all angles.
• Water towers should be painted the equivalent of 3M™ Scotchcal™ Film, Pearl Gray.
