Taking the risk out of commercializing innovation

Metered Dose Inhalers (MDI)
Our technical understanding and expertise of the metered dose inhaler goes back to when we created the very first one, over 50 years ago. Our experience spans the entire system, from feasibility to selecting the right components – valves, canisters and dose counters – through to commercial scale production. We take the risk out of commercializing your new product, from start to finish.
Dose by Dose Counters
With a clear, accurate display that patients love, our Dose by Dose Counters help increase compliance in medication regimens and can differentiate your product. It's also the first FDA-approved dose counter (in conjunction with an MDI product) available to clients. Differentiate your product by making it count with the 3M integrated dose by dose counter.
Our experience in developing products and navigating the patent landscape ensures that we are best placed to help you with any generic inhalation development. If you already have your formulation, we can help with differentiated MDI components or contract manufacturing. And we can help you get your product ready for market quickly, building on our proven track record of single-cycle FDA reviews. We understand the value of getting to market first!
Our experience means that we understand the MDI from the inside out – ensuring we can provide you with the right component solution. Whether it is integrating a 3rd party component or supplying a component designed and manufactured by 3M, we understand what will work best for your product. Easy fill; accurate dosing; pressure fill and cold fill valves; coated and plain cans; sleeved cans – whatever requirements you have, our technology and knowledge can be leveraged to differentiate your product.
Related Services: Inhalation Contract Manufacturing
Whether you're looking for a primary contract fill manufacturer or a second source of supply, for cold or pressure fill, 3M's cGMP facilities can provide you with reassurance that your product will be available for market. Our Lean Six Sigma team ensures optimized operation which may result in lowering your costs. As inhalation experts, we understand every step of bringing a product to market and can foresee and mitigate potential issues, lowering manufacturing risk.
