3MDDS Wins European Outsourcing Award
ST. PAUL, Minn – November 23, 2011 – 3M Drug Delivery Systems Wins European Outsourcing Award. Recognised for "Most Effective Drug Discovery/Development Programme. 3M Drug Delivery Systems was recently honored at the European Outsourcing Awards in the category of "Most Effective Drug Discovery/Development Programme." The recognition was bestowed for the company's work to develop a new Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) product with the addition of the 3M™ Integrated Dose by Dose Counter.

The European Outsourcing Awards are organized by Via Connect, a subsidiary of Via Media UK Ltd. The awards are designed to reward successful companies for their innovation, dedication, application and excellence throughout the bio/pharmaceutical outsourcing and wider business community. The award for Most Effective Drug Discovery/Development Programme emphasises effective planning and project management, with entrants judged on evidence of new product strategy, market analysis, opportunity identification and the alignment of technology and research to overcome development challenges and respond to market needs.
In its winning development programme, 3M Drug Delivery Systems helped its pharmaceutical partner meet a challenging delivery schedule, address changes in FDA regulatory guidance, and differentiate its product - a pMDI for asthmatics - for a competitive advantage. In addition, 3M Drug Delivery Systems developed a new process for product stabilisation and introduced innovations to improve patients' experiences with the new device to ensure prodcut quality.."
The European Outsourcing Awards are presented annually at a gala dinner, which was held this year on October 26 in Frankfurt, Germany. The event celebrates outsourcing excellence in the pharmaceutical community. More than 250 people representing more than 80 global companies were in attendance to recognise new and significant development in conrtact services."
