One of the highlights of my career at 3M has been the chance to apply 3M technology and products in different ways to help build and grow 3M's business. What works for one type of customer often can be used in another way for other customers.
Growing a business
It's very exciting to start up and grow a business. We're always challenged to continue the growth, to come up with new business opportunities in the United States and around the world. 3M has supported my travel to other countries to develop and grow new businesses. There's a great network of people at 3M around the world who help make it all happen. And no shortage of opportunities.
Moving into sales
When I started at 3M I was eager to use my chemical engineering experience and get involved in a manufacturing environment. From there I made the move to sales and marketing building on my engineering experience. I did this with 3M's help. The company supported me through training, challenging opportunities and helping me complete my MBA in marketing.
As my interests have changed over time, so have my assignments. I've been able to take charge of my career at 3M, move into different businesses and leverage what I've learned along the way.
It's the challenge of helping 3M find ways to be even more successful that's most rewarding. At 3M, you get the chance to succeed in so many different ways.
