Record Keeping

Documenting the sterilization process, so the history of each pack can be traced in the event of a problem.

The 3M recommended best practice is to document load controls, sterilizer records and process monitoring results daily.

Application
Each time you sterilize a load, record the load contents, exposure time, operator initials, etc. Any chemical indicators or printouts that need to be saved can be stored, according to established facility policy. Information from all sterilizers or loads can be entered into a log book or electronic record keeping system for future reference.
