Handheld Tracker
The 3M™ Handheld Tracker is a lightweight portable device that expands the capabilities of the 3M RFID Tracking System. The Handheld Tracker scans files in file rooms, individual offices, common work areas, boxes and virtually anywhere files are stored. The Handheld Tracker software performs three main functions - file inventory, shelf order and item searches - all at the same time.

Features
File Inventory: The Handheld Tracker expedites inventory management, scanning and storing file locations on shelves as well as in offices, conference rooms, boxes and other locations. The inventory data is then imported from the Handheld Tracker into the 3M RFID Tracking System Software, where current file locations are updated in the database.
Shelf Order: While taking inventory, the Handheld Tracker can notify the user of files that are out of order. It also lets you know where the file belongs on the shelf, allowing you to quickly and easily put it back in the proper place.
Item Searches: The 3M RFID Tracking System creates search lists to identify specific files for relocation, reassignment, offsite storage, etc., or even to locate misplaced files.
The search list can be exported from the software to the Handheld Tracker. As file rooms and offices are scanned, a visual and auditory signal lets the user know that a file on the search list has been located.
Portability: The 3M RFID Handheld Tracker is a small portable device that delivers big results.
Clearing Out Files
With thousands of files, this law office spent hours searching for files in offices, on desks and in file cabinets. With the 3M RFID Tracking System, all the files were entered into existing records system and were centralized in one file room - down from two rooms previously. Non-active files were sent to offsite storage and valuable office space was created.
