Track and manage critical files

The 3M™ RFID Tracking System includes software, tags, pads, and a handheld tracker. Each tag is a paper-thin label that electronically identifies all files within range of a reader.

Unlike barcodes, scanning does not require a physical line of sight. Staff can process many tagged files at once, and tags can be read through folders. The tracking pad is a networked device that programs tags and checks items in and out. The portable handheld tracker allows staff to quickly read tags, inventory offices and work areas, and update file locations on the server. The device also locates misfiled items on shelves (or in storage) and indicates where they should be refiled. With the tracking software, a complete file history and chain of custody is available on any connected computer.
