Susan Klacik has over 30 years experience working in Sterile Processing. She is a member of the IAHCSMM Serial Publications Committee to develop self-study lessons programs and has authored several chapters in the sixth edition of the IAHCSMM Textbook, the High Temperature Sterilization Chapter in the most recently published seventh edition, and numerous articles dealing with Medical Device Processing and the IAHCSMM crossword puzzles. In addition, Susan serves as co-chair of the AAMI Process Challenge Device Committee (PCD). She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an Associate in Labor Studies.

A former product and plant manager with 26 years experience, Vic came to Rucker & Associates with a background leading both lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives in industries ranging from medical and electronics to automotive and plastics. Victor’s experience leading over 250 team-based lean transformations has helped him develop expertise in seeing, leading and executing dramatic improvements across functional areas and throughout the value stream. Victor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University.

In 2006, Victoria Nahum became the face the American healthcare system has come to associate with the problem of healthcare acquired infections after three members of her family became infected in three different hospitals in three different states in 10 months’ time, culminating with the death of her son, Josh. He was 27. Just weeks after Josh’s death, she and her husband Armando created Safe Care Campaign www.safecarecampaign.org to bring a sharper focus on infection prevention within the American healthcare environment. Safe Care Campaign partners with healthcare systems, hospital administrations and frontline caregivers to remind, provoke, motivate and inspire all who work within the continuum of care of their most noble challenge and moral duty to prevent infections.

Rose Seavey, the former Director of the Sterile Processing Department at The Children’s Hospital of Denver, is an active member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). She was honored with AORN’s award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Nurse Education in 2001. She served as the President of the American Society of Healthcare Central Service Professionals (ASHCSP) in 2003 and is the 2002 recipient of ASHCSP National Educator of the Year award. Ms. Seavey is a member of several AAMI working group committees that are developing recommended practices and is currently a co-chair for the AAMI ST8, Hospital steam sterilizers. In addition, she has lectured and authored many articles on various topics relating to perioperative services and sterile processing, locally, nationally and internationally.

Cynthia Spry recently retired after 12.5 years in her role with Advanced Sterilization Products. Cynthia is a member of APIC, IAHCSMM and AORN where she was a past president. She has authored over 30 publication and two nursing texts. She has presented seminars on many healthcare related topics across the world. Cynthia is also a member of several AAMI Working Groups writing and updating recommended practices, including co-chairing the committee responsible for the ST79 Steam Sterilization recommended practice.
