Edward M. Liddy, retired chairman and chief executive officer, of The Allstate Corp., the parent of Allstate Insurance Co., a personal lines insurance company. and Partner, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Inc.

Liddy served as chairman of the board of The Allstate Corporation from January 1999 to April 2008. He served as chief executive officer of Allstate from January 1999 to December 2006, president from January 1995 to May 2005, and chief operating officer from August 1994 to January 1999. Liddy is a partner in the private equity investment firm of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Inc. Liddy is on the boards of the following public companies in addition to 3M and The Allstate Corporation: The Boeing Company and The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
