1900-1909
Unshakable Faith in the Future
3M constructed its first manufacturing center, a two-story sandpaper plant. Poor planning caused the  floor to collapse from the weight of the company’s newly purchased raw materials. Although 3M’s first decade was dominated by near-catastrophes, this only strengthened the founders’ fierce spirit of survival and optimism.
