Perfluoroocantyl Chemistry and 3M

3M at one time was a leading manufacturer of PFOA, PFOS and PFOS-related products. Even though the company has phased out of the production of PFOA, PFOS and PFOS-related products, 3M remains committed to furthering scientific research, to sharing that research and to continuing to offer the company's expertise to government agencies around the world. 3M has created a web site to answer your questions and provide links and references to information resources independent of 3M. It can be accessed at www.3M.com/PFOS-PFOA.

Ethics & Employment

Sustaining our future includes acting in a socially responsible way toward potential, current and former employees. As an ethical and law-abiding company, 3M complies with government regulations around the world concerning human rights, employees and employment laws and expects ethical behavior from employees in accordance with our global Business Conduct Manual. Our conduct goes beyond obligation to include policies that help support a challenging, productive and enjoyable work culture. For more information on 3M's Ethics and Employment.

Engaging Stakeholders

3M activities touch a broad and diverse group of individuals and organizations. As we continue to move toward sustainability, we endeavor to ensure these individuals -- our stakeholders -- are always considered. For more information, please see Stakeholder Interaction and Engaging Stakeholders.

Climate Change / GHG Management

3M has an aggressive greenhouse gas (GHG) management strategy which includes developing a 3rd-party certified GHG inventory, continuously improving GHG accounting systems, reducing our GHG footprint, setting voluntary GHG emissions reduction goals, and developing a range of products that help our customers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. For more information, please see Climate Change and Energy.
