These products are specifically designed and tested for use in fire resistance/fire protection of mechanical systems for commercial and industrial applications. When these types of services are left unprotected, critical life safety can be compromised during a fire or other emergency event.

3M products for use in protective wrap systems:

• Help prevent the spread of fire, smoke and toxic gases
• Feature flexible and low profile designs
• Meet the intent of LEED® VOC air quality guidelines
• Have systems that meet relevant test criteria for specific applications such as ASTM E 2336 for grease ducts (including ASTM E 119 for engulfment), ISO 6944 for ventilation air ducts, UL 1887 and NFPA 262 for plenums, ASTM E 1725 for electrical circuitry protection and ASTM E 119 (UL 263) for structural members and assemblies (including ASTM E 1529 (UL 1709) testing for hydrocarbon pool fires)
• Have tested and listed systems from accredited independent third-party test agencies such as UL or Intertek.
