Painted directly onto your teeth, Vanish™ white varnish protects teeth with a durable coating. Its unique formula contains fluoride, calcium and phosphate—components naturally found in saliva. In addition, Vanish spreads to more tooth surfaces, offering a distinct advantage in the treatment of hypersensitivity, where the pain may be related to several teeth.

The tri-calcium phosphate in Vanish varnish is unique; it is coated to release the calcium and phosphate when the varnish is painted on your teeth. The calcium and phosphate in Vanish varnish will work with the fluoride in the product to protect your teeth.
Most patients notice a thin coating on the teeth. Most dentists recommend that patients leave the varnish on the teeth for at least 4-6 hours, and then brush it off. The coating will naturally wear off within 24 hours even if you don’t brush it off.
You can eat or drink as soon as Vanish varnish has been painted on your teeth. However, you should avoid hard and sticky foods, very hot beverages, and products containing alcohol (including mouth wash) until you brush the varnish off your teeth.
You should follow your dentist’s instructions. When you brush or floss your teeth, you will be removing the outer coating of Vanish varnish. However, if you wait 4-6 hours after the varnish was applied, you will still have the protection for your teeth even after you brush or floss.
