Five years ago we had film put on all the windows in our house. It was amazing the difference it made, the fading of rugs and furniture stopped, the rooms were easier to cool and heat. Then 8 windows had dry rot (NOT due to the film) the manufacturer replaced them but of course wouldn't cover the cost of replacing the film. We had to do that ourselves. These windows were in various places in the house, front/back, up and downstairs. The rooms were definitely hotter and more unpleasant without the film, the glare was terrible just from the single window in each of eight rooms. We had the film replaced and it instantly made a difference. We used NV45 in the front of the house. 3M quit making it but we were lucky our installer still had some rolls, 4 of the windows needed that type and 4 used Prestige 50. This is a great product and Atlantic Shoreline Co in VA Beach is an excellent contractor.

The front bedroom and entry way faces south. We felt cooler temps in these areas immediately after install. Wish we did this when we moved in a few years ago.

These windows are on a south facing hall in Houston, TX. For several hours each morning the sun would really heat the space and hit the thermostat which would throw the air handler completely off. I would even get temperature alarms. This has not happened once since installation and the temp in the hallway stays cool and comfortable regardless of sun exposure. Works perfectly and still allows plenty of light. You cannot tell it is even there. Excellent product.
