Increase your placement choices with LCD TVs

Since LCD TVs are among the lightest and most portable TV technologies on the market, and also come in a wide variety of sizes, they give you the freedom to install your TV yourself and place it almost anywhere you want.

Solid Foundation

Many LCD TVs come with their own stands or bases, but you also can purchase stylish alternatives for placing your TV on the floor, on a table, inside a bookcase and so on. Since LCD TVs are so light, make sure that the stand or base is stable and substantial, and that the TV is securely connected to its base.

Wall Art

An LCD TV mounted to a wall looks great and opens up living space by eliminating furniture used to hold a TV. Adding just a couple of inches to the depth of a thin LCD TV, wall mounts let you tilt the display so that it faces seated viewers at the optimal angle (which is a right angle).

Moveable Feast

LCD TVs are light enough to work well on "articulating arm mounts," which feature a moveable arm attached to a wall. They allow you to swivel or tilt your TV for the best viewing angle. You can also pull your TV out to the right position when you need it, and tuck it away when you are done.

Wire Reality

Let's say you have an HDTV-ready TV, an HDTV tuner and an HDTV signal. You still might not be watching true HDTV unless everything is connected properly to support that beautiful picture and sound. Standard RCA connectors simply are not enough anymore. High-tech TV requires high-tech connectors, such as Firewire, DVI and the ultimate HDTV connector, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface).

If you want to mount a flat-panel display on a wall, and the cables have not been run through the wall, then you will need a different solution. One such option is 3M Command Adhesive™, which helps with semi-permanent attractive cabling.
