3M™ Linear Delineation System

The 3M™ Linear Delineation System enhances the visibility of guard rails and jersey barriers. Linear delineation system panels are uniquely designed to provide superior retroreflectivity and angularity, and are available in fluorescent colors that provide increased visibility from dawn to dusk, as well as at night. Panels provide added guidance for many types of situations including construction work zones, curved roadways, tunnel approaches, bridges and other areas where there is a need to call attention to a change in roadway geometry.

A new size and application method has been added to the linear delineation system product portfolio for 2009. Now available are 1.5-inch panels designed to fit into the trough of a guard rail, adhered with 3M™ VHB™ Tape that comes pre-applied to the back of the panel. This new application method makes installation 50 percent faster than previous bracket installation and offers flexibility for application to concrete or other surfaces both on and off the roadway. VHB tape strips are also available in 4- and 6-inch lengths to apply 4- and 6-inch linear delineation system panels to concrete barriers. Application with VHB tape is quicker and less labor intensive than previous anchor bolt methods.
