ARTBA Foundation Recognizes 3M’s Commitment to Work Zone Safety
3M was recognized for its commitment to safety at the American Road
& Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development
Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) ninth annual "Roadway Work Zone
Safety Awareness Awards" event on March 10 at the National Traffic
Management & Work Zone Safety Conference in Orlando, Florida.
The competition recognizes outstanding efforts to
help reduce roadway work zone accidents, injuries and
fatalities. 3M's All Weather Paint pavement marking
system was a first place winner in the "Innovations in
Technology" category honoring manufacturers that
integrate, develop or market innovative technologies.
Driving on rainy nights is a difficult task, particularly
through the unfamiliar and changing road geometries
of work zones. 3M developed an all-weather paint
pavement marking system especially tailored to work
zones that helps ensure visibility under all weather
conditions.
Other award categories include outreach campaigns and safety training. An independent panel of
judges reviewed entries and selected winners.
