The 3M MicroTouch™ Capacitive TouchSense™ System (MCT System) is the recipient of the Casino Journal platinum award for the "most innovative gaming technology product of 2007" and the Casino Enterprise Management "Slot Floor Technology 2008" award.
"The effort by this key group of display providers to create such a wide range of MCT System solutions for the Global Gaming show is an acknowledgement that tactile-feedback technology is up-and-coming interface for casino games," said Scott Hagermoser, gaming business unit manager, 3M Touch Systems.
The 3M MCT System adds tactile-feedback effects to gaming’s preferred touch interface, the 3M MicroTouch ClearTek II touch system. The 3M MCT System supports slot games optimized with complex tactile-feedback features, can be retrofitted into popular casino games to add simple tactile-feedback effects, or replace mechanical buttons with a video-based button panel so players receive tactile feedback similar to pressing a mechanical button.

About the 3M MicroTouch Capacitive TouchSense System (3M MCT System)
The 3M MCT System combines a 3M MicroTouch ClearTek II capacitive touch sensor and an enhanced 3M MicroTouch EX II controller with tactile-feedback technology licensed from Immersion Corporation. The 3M MCT System creates on-screen tactile feedback for game players by calculating the touch coordinates, which are passed to the gaming application on the CPU and then to the TouchSense Effects Library. The assigned tactile effect is passed back through the EX II controller to activate multiple actuators mounted to the touch screen to create the specified tactile sensation that the player "feels." The elapsed time from the initiated touch to receipt of tactile response is virtually undetectable by users.
