3M Touch Systems Introduces New Touch Screen Monitor For Enhanced Performance in High Ambient Light Conditions

Methuen, Mass. - August 16, 2004 — 3M Touch Systems, Inc. announces worldwide availability of its . Delivering 400 Nit brightness and a 430:1 contrast ratio, the M150HB display excels in high ambient light applications where standard LCD panels might appear dimmer or washed-out. The enhanced brightness and contrast also help produce vivid, distinct colors, increasing the visual appeal of graphics and color-intensive applications.

"The M150HB provides customers with the video performance that brighter operating environments and graphic-intensive applications demand," said Larry Loerch, monitor business manager, 3M Touch Systems. "This product represents our ongoing effort to enable our solution providers to offer higher overall performance and quality through enhanced touch monitor designs."

Enhanced Video Performance
The M150HB touch monitor marks the further expansion of 3M's family of high-value LCD touch monitor solutions and responds to the demand for enhanced video performance. Leveraging the same mechanical design elements as the standard MicroTouch M150 touch monitor, the M150HB monitor adds enhanced LCD performance to touch-stability and installation flexibility. The enhanced LCD performance allows the M150HB to excel in applications such as point-of-sale stations situated near bright windows, shaded outdoor POS environments and hospitality applications, and anywhere else high amounts of ambient light* could wash out the display.

Proven Touch Screen Technology
Available with both serial and USB connectivity, the MicroTouch M150HB LCD monitor is offered with MicroTouch ClearTek capacitive touch technology. ClearTek provides accuracy and sensitivity to the user's touch while offering outstanding durability and resistance to contaminants such as dirt, liquids, and harsh chemicals.
*The M150HB is not intended for use or readability in direct sunlight.
