3M Previews Multi-touch Displays at CES 2011
At the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 (January 6-9, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada), 3M Touch Systems unveiled a sleek new booth design along with previewing two new multi-touch chassis displays.
Developed to emphasize the capabilities of 3M Multi-Touch Solutions, 3M Touch Systems introduced this new booth design that will be seen at these exhibitions throughout 2011.
On exhibit at CES 2011 were a variety of 3M Multi-Touch solutions featuring 32" and 22" 3M Multi-Touch chassis displays that included:
- 4-panel Cascading Table
- 9-panel Display Wall
- Multi-Touch player interface with on-screen joystick controls for Flight Simulator
- Multi-Touch StarCraft® gaming stations

3M offers 22" Multi-Touch Chassis Display
Now available for adding true multi-touch interactivity to public use environments, the 22" 3M Multi-Touch Display C2254PW can be purchased in the United States at Shop3M. This new addition to the 3M Multi-Touch Display product line delivers an ultra-fast, accurate, and precise 10 finger touch response, with a high-definition, wide viewing angle LCD, to create a multi-touch chassis for next generation interactive applications. The rugged all steel frame and a highly-durable glass front surface provide the durability needed for demanding public use environments.

3M MicroTouch Software MT7 Driver Update
An updated version of the 3M MicroTouch Software MT7 Driver (Build 3) for Windows and Linux has been posted for downloading. Key driver enhancements include:
Windows:
- Improved driver shutdown performance especially for systems using serial controllers
- Enhanced edge adjustment capabilities for multi-touch screens
Linux:
- The MT 7 Software now supports X server version 1.8
- The MT 7 Software now supports 64 bit X server versions with 32 bit libraries installed
