Thinsulate™ Insulation and Will Steger Team Up for Ellesmere Island Expedition
Thinsulate™ Insulation once again supported renowned polar explorer, Will Steger and his team—this time on an expedition across Ellesmere Island. In March 2008, Steger and six explorers traveled in Canada's High Artic to the last remaining ice shelves in North America to capture disintegrating ice caps, retreating glaciers and the damage to wildlife habitat. The team returned in June, with firsthand accounts of the effects of global warming.
During their 60-day journey, Steger and his team of explorers traveled by dog-sled through the ruins of the summer sea ice from the Arctic Ocean, found their way through refashioned topography and encountered polar bears. During their arctic adventures, Thinsulate insulation kept them warm.
"Thinsulate insulation in our cold-weather parkas and thermal suits provided warmth and comfort to the team throughout our 1,400-mile expedition across Ellesmere Island. It was reassuring to have such outstanding gear during our expedition." — Will Steger
Thinsulate Insulation has long supported Will Steger's expeditions in the past serving as the insulation of choice for the International Arctic Project 1995, Arctic Transect 2004 and the Baffin Island Expedition 2007.
