As part of its marking and locating solutions for MSOs, 3M offers dedicated marker products specifically for the CATV industry. These include ball markers tuned to a unique frequency and color-coded to APWA standards to distinguish them from other 3M markers designed for use by power, water, gas and other utilities. In addition to the ball markers, MSOs can also use 3M markers designed for more general communications applications. These are available in a variety of form factors and accommodate a range of depths from two to eight feet.
3M complements its 2200 series of locators with a complete line of stand-alone EMS locators, the 3M™ Dynatel™ Marker Locators 1420 Series. This affordable line of solutions is an alternative for MSOs that don't require the complete integrated capabilities of the 2200 Series.
