History of 3M Sanford

  • 1977 – 3M invents the Metal-Out Shielding bag.
  • 1986 – Credence Technologies (CTI) is founded.
  • 1989 – Static Control Components (SCC) is founded.
  • 1997 – SCC won the global IBM contract for shielding bags.
  • 2002 – JJC begins making film for SCC.
  • 2006 – 3M acquires SCC, JJC and CTI, becoming the largest manufacturer of static shielding and barrier bags in the world.
  • 2008 – Combined products catalog is published, reflecting 3M’s complete product offering in static management.
