How are Tegaderm™ wound care dressings made simple?
One way is through the product names themselves. There are more than 4,000 wound care products on the market with various brand names, descriptions and trademarks. 3M wants to simplify by using one brand. Each new dressing will have the Tegaderm™ brand followed by a descriptive name making it easy to order, prescribe and reimburse.

New dressings will be launched under the Tegaderm™ brand including:
- 3M™ Tegaderm™ Hydrogel
- 3M™ Tegaderm™ Absorbent Clear Acrylic Dressing
- 3M™ Tegaderm™ Transparent Film Dressings with Label, #1620 and #1621
- 3M™ Tegaderm™ Roll Transparent Film, available in early 2005

What will happen with Tegaderm™ dressings that we know today?
There are more than 40 Tegaderm™ film dressings in the family today. Some are classified as premium IV dressings, some are designed for use on both IV and wounds, and others are wound specific. As Tegaderm™ dressings expand into wound care, the brand will continue to grow within the IV market. In fact, we are featuring two new and improved Tegaderm™ first aid style dressings: 1620 (ideal for Peripheral IV) and 1621.
How will I be able to differentiate between each Tegaderm™ dressing?
All Tegaderm™ dressings are designed and packaged with the end user in mind. The packaging for each dressing will be graphically enhanced with images that clearly identify the product inside. There will also be a descriptive name and user-friendly illustrations that reinforce the best practices application technique, making it easy to train and educate patients and professionals.
