Coatings
Novec electronic coating EGC-1704 imparts anti-wetting, anti-stiction, anti-migration and anti-corrosion properties to sensitive electronic components. When spray-applied or dip-coated to clean, moisture-free surfaces such as copper, aluminum, ceramic, steel, tin or glass, Novec coating EGC-1704 dries to form an ultra-thin transparent film (~0.2 micron) that repels liquids such as lubricating oils, hydrocarbon oils and silicones. The coating can be used to protect electrical components such as:
- MR recording heads
- Spindle motors
- Head gimbal assemblies(HGAs)
- MEMS
- CRTs
- LCDs
And, to ensure the minimum amount of contaminants, the coating's carrier solvent - 3M™ Novec™ Engineered Fluid HFE-7100DL - is a high purity product ideal for electronics applications.
