Multi-Protocol RFID Readers

Supporting unique design innovations and advancements in RFID technology, 3M offers Multi-Protocol RFID readers that provide a low cost path to interoperability. 3M Multi-Protocol readers are designed specifically to read the six most common US toll protocols at highway speeds.

Automatic License Plate Recognition Systems

3M manufactures versatile, high-performance ALPR systems to fit demanding tolling applications, with high resolution coverage of a full lane of traffic with up to two concurrent vehicles in the field of view. 3M is uniquely positioned to enhance license plate reading while providing systems that return accurate vehicle data in real-time, closing the loop between camera image and vehicle owner data.

3M RFID transmitters send a signal from the toll gate that wakes up the tag in the vehicle, which reflects the energy back to the lane receiver. This coded information is detected by the lane computer and verified to the unique account information for the vehicle.
