I figured that my kids must have messed with it.I bought a second pair, protected them, and a year later the headband broke.It is a lot of money for being only short term. I got approximately two dozen uses before the headband snapped at the very top, center-most point. I will not buy again and I certainly do not recommend. The screech from my circular saw doesn't pierce my ears anymore when I wear these. I like that they are adjustable and fold up to take up less space. I bought (2) pairs of the Blue Stow-A-Way muffs with plastic headbands, but both have easily broken while spreading enough to put on a 5 year old's head.
