• The 3M™ Projector Sleeve PS4100 (the “3M product”) is warranted to be free from defects in material or manufacture for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase.
• All other accessories included with the 3M product are warranted to be free from defects in material or manufacture for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase.
• Optional product accessories that are not sold as part of the 3M product are subject to individual warranties.

THE WARRANTIES STATED ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND ARE MADE IN PLACE OF ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES‚ EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS‚ INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE‚ OR ANY INDUSTRY PRACTICE OR CUSTOM OR TRADE USAGE.

In the event the 3M product fails to conform to the above stated warranties within the applicable warranty period‚ your exclusive remedy shall be‚ at 3M’s option‚ to replace or repair the 3M product or to refund the purchase price of the 3M product. All replaced parts or products become property of 3M. If the product is repaired‚ 3M will repair the defective part(s) with a new or used part(s). If the 3M product is replaced‚ 3M will replace the 3M product with the same or equivalent model and with a new or refurbished 3M product. In the case of an approved warranty claim‚ the replacement 3M product will carry only the remaining term of the original 3M product’s warranty period as stated above. For warranty service‚ you must provide proof of the date of the original purchase else the manufacturing code date will be used to establish the start date of the warranty. The following are exclusions to the above listed warranty:

1. This warranty does not cover 3M product that is modified or damaged through improper storage‚ misuse‚ abuse‚ accident‚ vandalism‚ improper installation‚ neglect‚ improper shipping‚ damage caused by acts of war‚ disasters such as fire‚ flood‚ and lightning‚ improper electrical current‚ software problems‚ interaction with non-3M products‚ or service other than by an 3M Authorized Service Provider‚ neglect or mishandling by any person. Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
2. 3M product is designed to operate in the typical indoor environment. This warranty does not cover 3M product used outside of the following circumstances:
   • Charged by iPhone 4/4S USB Power Adapter or Computer USB port
   • 5° – 35°C (41° – 95°F)
   • 20 – 80% RH (without condensation)
   • 0 – 3048 m (0 – 10‚000 feet) above sea leve
3. The air intake and exhaust vent must be clear of obstructions. Inadequate air ventilation will cause the 3M product to malfunction or will cause damage to the 3M product which will void the warranty.
4. This warranty does not cover any additional costs including‚ but not limited to‚ those associated with removal‚ cleaning or installation of the 3M product‚ adjustments‚ (mechanical or electronic) made to the 3M product.
5. This warranty covers only normal use of the product. 24-hour-per-day or other excessive continual use causes strain and is not considered normal use.
6. This warranty does not cover consumables (e.g.‚ batteries).
7. This warranty is not transferable.
8. 3M is not responsible for warranty service should the 3M label or logo or the rating label or serial number be removed unless otherwise stated in writing for the purposes of private labeling for partnership requirements.
9. This warranty does not cover postage‚ insurance‚ or shipping costs incurred in presenting your 3M product for warranty service. Said costs are the customer’s responsibility. If a claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced in service‚ the customer may be held responsible for cost incurred. Should your warranty upgrade include a “change out” service and the claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced by the technician‚ the customer will be responsible for call out costs.

EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY STATED IN THE APPLICABLE 3M PRODUCT MANUAL‚ 3M SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT‚ INCIDENTAL‚ SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING‚ BUT NOT LIMITED TO‚ LOSS OF PROFITS‚ REVENUE OR BUSINESS) RESULTING FROM‚ OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO PERFORMANCE‚ USE OR INABILITY TO USE ANY OF THE 3M PRODUCT. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory upon which damages are sought.

FFor warranty support‚ please call or write your local 3M office or a 3M Authorized Service Provider to obtain an RMA # (Return Material Authorization number) before returning the product. What 3M Will Do To Correct Problems:

• If your 3M product requires service‚ 3M will ask you to bring or send the 3M product‚ securely packaged in its original container or equivalent‚ along with proof of the date of original purchase‚ to your 3M Service Dealer or 3M Service Center.
• 3M will‚ at its option‚ repair or replace the defective unit without charge for parts or labor. Return of the 3M product will be at 3M’s expense.
• When warranty service involves the exchange of the 3M product or of a part‚ the item replaced becomes 3M property.
• The exchanged 3M product or part may be new or previously refurbished to the 3M standard of quality‚ and at 3M’s option‚ the replacement may be another model of like kind and quality.
• 3M’s liability for replacement of the warranted 3M product or part will not exceed the original retail selling price of the 3M product. Exchange or replacement products or parts assume the remaining warranty period of the product covered by this limited warranty.

Battery and Charging

Q: How long does it take to charge the battery?
A: It takes about three hours to fully charge the battery. The projector must be off to charge the battery.

Q: How long will the battery last once charged?
A: When the battery is brand new and fully charged‚ the battery will last about 100 minutes.

Q: What happens if I overcharge the battery?
A: There are protection circuits in the projector and the battery that prevent over charging.

Q: If my battery is dead‚ can I use the power adapter to power the projector?
A: You can use the power adapter with the projector.

Charging the iPhone 4/4s

Q: Will the projector charge the iPhone?
A: The projector will charge the iPhone if the button on the back is selected and all 3 lights on the back flash together at same time.

Q: Can the 3M Projector Sleeve fully charge my Apple iPhone 4/4S?
A: The 3M Projector Sleeve does not have the capacity to fully charge your phone. On the other hand‚ it can function as an auxiliary power source and extend the phone’s battery life. While charging the iPhone‚ the projector’s battery power is depleted. Once the projector stops charging the iPhone‚ the projector’s battery will need to be charged.

Q: Can the 3M Projector Sleeve charge my Apple iPhone 4/4S while the projector is on?
A: The projector can only charge the phone when it is off. The projector stops charging the phone when you turn the projector on.

Q: Can I charge the iPhone while it is docked in the 3M Projector Sleeve?
A: Yes. You can either charge the iPhone using the projector or the Apple iPhone 4/4S Power Adapter or Computer’s USB port. Use the projector’s USB cable to connect the projector to the Apple iPhone 4/4S Power Adapter or a computer’s USB port. In most cases‚ the computer must be on when charging the iPhone or Projector Sleeve.

Can I charge the Apple iPhone 4/4S and 3M Sleeve Projector at the same time?
A: No. When the projector is connected an Apple iPhone 4/4S Power Adapter or a computer’s USB port‚ you can only charge one device at a time. There is a charge mode button on the bottom of the projector. Use this button to switch between charging the iPhone 4/4S and projector.

Q: When the Apple iPhone 4/4S finishes charging, does the 3M Projector Sleeve automatically start charging?
A: No. After the iPhone finishes charging‚ you must press the charge mode button to start charging the projector.

Image and Video

Q: What is the native resolution of the projector?
A: VGA (640 × 480)

Q: Does the 3M Projector Sleeve have a menu system?
A: There is no menu system but there is a status icon and led indicator.

Q: the Projector Sleeve project at a Widescreen?
A: The 3M Projector Sleeve is 4:3 projector. It is best if you turn off Widescreen on the iPhone 4/4S. You can do this in Setting > General > TV out. TV out only appears when the phone is docked into the projector and the projector must be on.

Compatibility

Q: Is it compatible with iPhone 3GS and older?
A: The Projector Sleeve for iPhone 4/4S is only compatible for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.

Q: Can I use this projector in other countries?
A: Yes‚ as long as you have a computer or other device with a USB port for charging.

Q: How do I clean the projector lens?
A: A cotton swab is a good tool for cleaning the lens. When cleaning the lens‚ hold the lens in place using the focus knob and then gently remove the dust and dirt. Do not use harsh chemicals like acetone because it will damage the lens and other plastic parts.

Accessories and Replacement Parts

Q: Are there any replacement parts in the projector?
A: There are no replacement parts for the projector.

Q: Can I replace the lamp?
A: NO. The light source is a LED and cannot be replaced.

How to get a bigger sound when using the 3M™ Projector Sleeve

Do you want bigger sound when watching a video or movie? Since the 3M Projector Sleeve does not have a speaker and relies on the iPhone speaker for audio‚ and a bigger sound requires additional speakers. Your first option is standard computer speakers or self-powered speakers. Simply place the speakers into your phone’s headphone jack. Your second option is Bluetooth wireless speakers. Follow the instructions that come with the speakers to make a Bluetooth connect with your phone. Then place the speakers below or beside the image. Now you have an instant‚ spur-of-the-moment home theater.

How to Charge an iPhone 4/4s using the 3M Projector Sleeve

As long as the 3M Projector Sleeve is charged‚ it can charge your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. Although the projector does not have the capacity to fully charge the phone’s battery‚ it does serve as an auxiliary power source until you can charge your phone using the phone’s power adapter.

1. Dock your phone into the 3M Projector Sleeve.
   
2. Press the Charge mode button and the three LED beside the button will start flashing. The battery icon in the phone’s status bar will change from battery icon to battery charging icon.
   

Notes:

1. The 3M Projector Sleeve will not charge the phone when the projector is on.
2. You can charge your phone while it is docked in the 3M Projector Sleeve by connecting the projector to the Apple iPhone 4/4S Power Adapter or a computer’s USB port using a USB cable. A USB cable comes with the projector.

Connecting an iPhone 4/4S to the 3M™ Projector Sleeve for iPhone 4/4S

1. Dock (or slide) iPhone 4/4S into the Projector Sleeve
   
2. Turn on the projector.

Note: The 3M Projector Sleeve does not mirror the phone’s screen. You must start a photo or keynote slideshow or start a video.

Watching a Video or Photo

On your Apple® iPhone 4/4S‚ start a video or photo slideshow.

• If the projector displays a blue screen‚ your phone is not sending video to the 3M projector. Refer to the User Guide for your Apple device and look for “Watching a Video”‚ “Slideshows” and “TV out.”
• If the iPhone 4/4S is already playing a video‚ it will not play on the projector until you stop the video and restart it.

The projector will not turn on.

• The battery is not charged or the power adapter is not connected to the projector and a working wall outlet. First charge the battery. If the battery does not seem to charge‚ test the electrical outlet by plugging another electrical device (such as a radio) into the wall outlet and confirm that the wall outlet works.

The image is not visible or is very dim.

• The 3M Projector Sleeve is a battery operated projector and requires controlled lighting conditions. The image may appear very dim in brightly lit rooms.
• Project the image onto a flat‚ white surface.
• Decrease the light on the surface where the image is being projected.
• Decrease the size of the image.

The iPhone is docked into the projector but the projector will not display the video.

• You must start a video‚ Keynote present or photo slideshow before it is displayed by the projector.
• Confirm that the app has the TV-out feature. Some app restrict this feature.
• Confirm that iPhone 4/4S recognizes the 3M Projector Sleeve by looking for “MFi Accessory” in Settings > General > About. If you do not see MFi Accessory in the About screen on the phone‚ then follow these steps: 1. Remove the phone from the projector and turn off the project; 2. Dock (or slide) the phone into the projector; 3. Turn on the projector and the phone will recognize the projector. When the phone recognizes the projector‚ MFi Accessory‚ which is the 3M Sleeve Projector‚ will appear in the About screen just above Diagnostics and Usage Statics.

The iPhone displays the message: “This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone. You many experience noise caused by celluar interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength.”

• This is maybe caused by a communication failure between the phone and projector when you docked the phone into the projector. To avoid this message‚ turn off the projector; remove the phone from the projector sleeve; dock (or slide) the phone into the projector; and finally turn on the projector again.

The projected image appears distorted.

• Turn off Widescreen in Setting > General > TV out on the iPhone.

The project stops showing the video after a few minute every time.

• The iPhone may be going into lock mode. You can adjust this function in Setting>General>Auto-Lock.
