History of 3M Menomonie
3M Menomonie, a multi-divisional plant, was established on a 500+ acre site approximately sixty-five miles east of 3M Center laboratories in St. Paul, Minn. Construction on 3M Menomonie began in September 1973 as a one-story facility. Since our opening in 1974, numerous expansions occurred increasing the facility to over 698,000 square feet which is over six times the size of the original facility.
Since its beginning, 3M Menomonie has played host to a wide variety of products and their respective divisions. While many of these products still remain, some have been relocated to other 3M facilities. 3M Menomonie provides early manufacturing and development capabilities for 3M products not yet matured for full-scale production. The plant continues to do product development and commercialization work but has become one of 3M's premier manufacturing facilities for high-technology and state-of-the-art products. 3M Menomonie supports many divisions that have products in various stages of development and/or production.
During the past 35 years, the plant has seen significant change and employees have consistently demonstrated their ability to drive business success and adapt to any change that comes our way. 3M Menomonie is proud of the reputation its employees have created. They continue to build on that strength to insure 3M Menomonie is always considered as a choice when 3M is looking for a plant to manufacture new products.
