After some additional preparation to the surface of the 3M Mill Roll, this shaft with the 3M Mill Roll assembled onto it can then be positioned in the process line.

A major physical property that makes 3M Mill Rolls unique among non-woven rolls is that these discs are bonded together to form a single, unified sleeve. Non-woven rolls from other manufacturers are produced from simple discrete discs of web compacted onto the support shaft. In addition to the specifically engineered materials they are produced from, this unified sleeve design makes 3M Mill Rolls far stronger and stable operating roll covers compared to their non-woven competitors.

This bonding feature also makes repairing a damaged 3M Mill Roll relatively simple. Typically only the portion that has been damaged needs replacing allowing a less costly option to return the roll to service relatively quickly.

Today there are four different 3M Mill Rolls being produced and marketed.

  1. Neutral Mill Roll Premium Performance
  2. CX Mill Roll Premium Performance in Chemicals
  3. CX-Plus Mill Roll Premium Performance in Chemicals
  4. RK Mill Roll Premium Bridle Roll
