The 3M Little Rock community affairs program strategic objective is to protect, promote, and build relationships with neighbors and community leaders in the surrounding community. The site has a long-standing priority to be a neighbor of choice and a good corporate citizen. 3M is committed to operating in a safe and environmentally sound way, as a caring neighbor and involved citizen.
3M is an active supporter of our local educational system. Bringing environmental education to the classroom is supported through 3M’s support of the Keystone Center’s Key Issues Institute. The Key Issues Institute is a national teacher professional development training program that provides middle level educators with the process, skills, and confidence to investigate current environmental issues with their students using the Keystone Center’s non-biased framework.
The 3M Little Rock plant in conjunction with the 3M Foundation supports several local non-profit organizations including the Bill Clinton Foundation, American Red Cross, United Way and other arts and culture, environment, education, health and human service organizations. We also have a unique program that partners with medical facilities and area doctors supporting the plant.
3M Little Rock employees are also part of the site’s community giving efforts. We support local education to make our communities stronger and contribute to the economic vitality of the community and its social needs by investing time and money in the community. Through volunteerism and product donations, employees participate in Junior Achievement, food drives, College Station Parade and community cleanup efforts.
The Little Rock facility contributes year on year to the community. We look forward to opportunities to improve our community involvement footprint in Little Rock. These activities along with the participation and support from employees make Little Rock’s community affairs program, “Rock Solid.”
