3M has developed the "Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)" tool to compare various commercial HVAC filters with the Filtrete™ Commercial HVAC filter solutions and to quantify the TCO savings when using Filtrete™ Commercial HVAC Filters.

The TCO tool analyzes each of the total cost of ownership components and projects cost savings over a defined assessment period, most often one year. Customers can get a "summary of results", containing projected annual TCO savings per filter, per air handler and for the entire building.
