Infection Prevention Leadership Summit
All for None: Eliminating HAIs through knowledge‚ collaboration and leadership
A leadership team from your healthcare facility is cordially invited to attend the 5th annual Infection Prevention Leadership Summit on Oct 28-30‚ 2012 at the 3M Innovation Center in St. Paul‚ Minnesota. The Leadership Summit is the only educational event of its kind that brings together key professional associations and interdisciplinary participants to exclusively focus on leadership for HAI reduction.
Significant investments have been made in research‚ policy and procedure development‚ and implementation processes to reduce Healthcare associated infections (HAIs). However‚ HAIs remain a significant threat to patient health and recovery‚ and the financial viability of healthcare facilities. New approaches are called for that focus on leadership and collaboration across disciplines to achieve sustainable HAI reduction. This is the focus of the 2012 Infection Prevention Leadership Summit.
For the second consecutive year‚ the Summit is a collaborative effort co-sponsored by 3M‚ Sage Products‚ Belimed and Rochester Medical in partnership with the following professional associations: SHEA‚ APIC‚ AORN‚ IAHCSMM‚ NPFS and SIS. New this year‚ we are pleased to be partnering with the University of St. Thomas Physician Leadership Program who will develop the Summit curriculum focused on Leading Change for Sustainable HAI reduction.
3M‚ along with our partners‚ shares your passion for developing and implementing strategies to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections in your facility. During the Summit‚ you will engage with approximately 90 leaders from over 30 facilities in the US and Canada and Puerto Rico. Through interactive sessions you will focus on enhancing your leadership skills and will also work together with your facility team to build the business case for an initiative that if implemented can achieve sustainable HAI reduction. Along the way you will collaborate‚ share ideas‚ network and learn through interactive discussions lead by professional association faculty who will focus on clinical application of organizational leadership practices. Attendees will also be invited to present a poster to share their HAI reduction best practices.
Another unique opportunity will be participation in a session facilitated by the Professional Association partner leadership to brainstorm components for a tool kit to drive implementation of the 2011 Leadership Summit E3 White Paper: Educate‚ Empower‚ Engage(E3): A Collaborative Interdisciplinary Call to Action for Reducing Surgical Site Infections. You can make an important contribution to the work of these associations as they collaborate together to drive E3 implementation in healthcare facilities.
