3M™ Authentication System 3M™ Authentication System
Building on the capability of the 3M Full Page Reader or 3M ePassport Reader, images are captured in infrared, visible, ultraviolet, retroreflective and tamper detection illuminations. Optical pattern matching automatically compares security features from documents at a checkpoint to trusted templates stored in a secure database. Checks for document attributes help inspectors identify counterfeit documents.
3M™ ePassport Reader 3M™ ePassport Reader
The 3M ePassport Reader provides all the benefits of full page document reading and image capture as well as the ability to simultaneously capture data from contactless integrated circuit (IC) chips. The 3M ePassport Reader offers the convenience of single-step document processing of ePassports. While the reader can scan and access data contained in the IC, it can also be used to write data to the chip during the document issuance process.
3M™ ePassport Verification System 3M™ ePassport Verification System
The 3M ePassport Verification System consists of 3M ePassport Readers and customized software designed for use in self-service kiosks. It gives ePassport holders a means to personally check the electronic data stored on the new high-security passports. When a citizen’s passport is placed on the reader, the device automatically begins the reading process and within seconds confirms the document’s validity. The electronic contents of the passport are displayed on a monitor allowing the document holder to view the data on-screen or request a printout.
3M™ Full Page Reader 3M™ Full Page Reader
In addition to performing optical character recognition, this flexible device captures images of standard and oversized documents in infrared and visible illumination. The 3M Full Page Reader offers a first step of an upward migration path including the addition of ultraviolet illumination, illumination of 3M™ Confirm™ Laminates and other retroreflective security laminates, support for advanced document authentication as well as support for reading ePassports.
