3M™ Steri-Gas™ Cartridges

A single-dose cartridge containing 100% ethylene oxide (EO). Each cartridge holds between 3.5 to 6 ounces (100 to 170 grams) of EO depending on the model of 3M™ Steri-Vac™ Sterilizer used.

3M developed the Steri-Gas cartridge to minimize the risk associated with EO and the large, bulky tanks that were typically used. The cartridge is placed into its holder inside the sterilizer chamber. When the sterilization cycle is complete, it is aerated with the sterilized items, and discarded with non-incinerated waste.
