Anti-fog design makes the 1838R and 1838FSG masks an ideal choice for eyeglass wearers.
The anti-fog, anti-reflective face shield on the 1838FSG is easy to see through and is designed to help protect the wearer against splashes, sprays and spatter of blood and body fluids. The 1838R is fluid resistant to help reduce potential exposure of the wearer to blood and body fluids. 1838R=>99% BFE{1} and >99% PFE{2}. Hypoallergenic to reduce chance of allergic reaction. Off-the-face (duckbill) design helps keep the mask away from nose and mouth for greater comfort and breathability. Does not contain either natural rubber latex or dry natural rubber as components in the product or its packaging to eliminate concern of latex reaction. {1} - For 1838R Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) determined by the modified Greene and Vesley test method and in vitro testing. {2} - Particle Challenge Study - measures filter efficiency only against mass median aerodynamic diameter particle. Surgical mask tests were conducted by an independent laboratory following a 3M internal protocol and using a 0.1 micron latex sphere at a flow rate of 28.3 liters per minute. PFE test results are provided for comparing performance of surgical masks under similar laboratory conditions. This does not reflect expected levels of filtration efficiency in actual use conditions nor replace the need to use NIOSH certified respirators if exposed to hazardous airborne contaminants. |
