3M Acquires Quest Technologies We are gaining momentum as the worldwide leader in safety, and today we have strengthened our position even more. 3M has formally acquired Quest Technologies, a global leader in hygiene instrumentation and software.
Quest Technologies, which is headquartered in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, brings renowned sound monitoring technology and will complement our strong portfolio in hearing protection. Quest also offers a complete line of heat, vibration and air quality monitoring and measuring equipment. This acquisition provides a strong foundation for our existing safety portfolio—especially our market-leading line of hearing products.
Quest will operate as a separate legal entity owned by 3M and will continue to be headquartered in Wisconsin where it employs approx. 95 people.

New Standard on Employer Payment for PPE On Nov. 15, 2007, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued a new paragraph to existing standard 29 CFR 1910.132, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
