The 3M™ Speedglas™ Utility Helmet is made from chemical and heat-resistant nylon and weighs only 17.1 oz (486 g), including the auto-darkening filter. The filter has a 3.57 in x 1.68 in (91mm x 43mm) viewing area. Average battery life of approximately 2000 hours. The filter turns itself off 30 minutes after the last detected arc. The operating temperature range is 23° to 131°F (-5° to 55°C). It has a light shade of 3 and an off (fail-safe) state of nominal shade 5. Available in dark shade of 10 or 11.
