3M™ Grouper Plus Content Services and 3M™ Grouper Plus System
Integration: the fastest way to market
The 3M Grouper Plus System is a Java™-based, platform-independent solution that can be embedded in another vendor’s software application. It relies on common application program interface (API) methods to pass and retrieve data across all Java archive (JAR) components for grouping, editing, reimbursement and pay-for outcomes. The addition of 3M grouping capabilities provides up-to-date claim edits for providers, payers, fiscal intermediaries, and state and federal agencies. Users can choose the reimbursement methodology and calculate the expected reimbursement of individual claims based on the group assigned.
3M Grouper Plus System, which offers licensing for all leading inpatient and outpatient methodologies, including CMS DRGs, TRICARE, 3M™ All Patient Refined DRGs, 3M™ Enhanced Ambulatory Patient Groups and Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APCs). In addition to the extensive list of reimbursement calculation content, 3M recently added the Medicare Renal Dialysis Facility reimbursement scheme for pricing outpatient hospital and independent renal dialysis claims (Bill Type 072X) to the 3M Grouper Plus System. This reimbursement scheme is based on Medicare ESRD regulations effective for "through" dates on or after 01/01/2009.
Real-time content in the cloud
3M offers this same rich regulatory and 3M-proprietary content delivered from a 3M-hosted, cloud-computing environment. The 3M Grouper Plus Content Services (GPCS) makes timely 3M content available conveniently for 3M business partners to enhance their applications.
With data in the cloud, 3M experts can quickly make core regulatory changes as they occur. And, using a standard interface to make a call over the web, 3M business partners can access current content in real-time whenever it’s convenient for them.
The result is a win-win: 3M business partners can access the current regulatory data and logic they need, maintained and supported by 3M Health Information Systems and its 28+ years of experience and expertise in editing, grouping, and reimbursement methodologies.
This next-generation content distribution approach means:
Immediate access to available content with its various prospective payment methodologies, including multiple versions of groupers and code sets
No workflow interruptions or interface changes when new content is received
Reduced IT maintenance, no local installation, and ease of implementation using industry-standard, SOAP-based web services
