Pre-Race Day
Packet Prep at 3M – Assist in preparing race packets & goodies bags for runners. Packet Prep at 3M will take place the week prior to the race.
Registration & Packet Pick-up – Assist in registering new runners and the distribution of race packets to runners.
Finish Line Setup – Assist the construction of finish line.
Elite Runners’ Liaison – Meet & greet the elite runners as they arrive into Austin.
Packet Pick-Up Prep - Assist with the final prep (i.e. folding shirts, unloading and loading packets & goodies bags, etc.) for packet pick-up.
Start Line
Starting Area Step-up & Breakdown – Assist with the final set-up and breakdown of the start line.
Packet Pick-up – Distribute packets to runners the morning of the race.
Runners' Equipment Truck – Assist in the collections and return of runners’ personal belongings before and after the race. Volunteers are needed at the start and finish areas.
Bus Transportation – Directs runners and spectators to bus shuttle areas. Volunteers are needed at the start line and finish line.
Course
Water Stations – Distribute water to runners throughout the course.
Course Marshalls – Monitor designated areas along the course‚ keep course safe for the runners‚ keep runners on the course‚ keep the course clear of pedestrians‚ spectators‚ cars‚ etc.
Medical Tent – Provide medical assistance for the runners throughout the course and at the finish line. Must be a credentialed provider of at least the Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) level in good standing under the Austin-Travis County EMS system.
Emergency Communications/HAM Radio – Work with medical volunteers and security to relay all emergency communications that may occur during race. HAM Radio volunteers must have a valid Amateur Radio License and provide own handheld radio capable of operating on the 2-meter FM VHF amateur radio band.
Relay Exchange – Assist the runners at the relay exchange point.
Finish Line
Finish Line Final Setup - Assist in final preparations for finish line setup.
Post Race Food – Assist in food table setup and breakdown. Volunteers are also needed to distribute‚ monitor‚ and replace food items as necessary.
Runners’ Chute – Distribute finisher’s medals to participants.
Awards – Assist in the distribution of awards at the finish line.
Post Race Breakdown & Cleanup – Assist in the finish line breakdown & cleanup after the completion of the race and festivities.
Race Pictures – Direct runners to the designated area for pictures upon completion of the race.
